Dr. Marcia Morrison is a licensed psychotherapist in New York, New Jersey, Kentucky, Connecticut, and the Commonwealth of Virginia. She has over 30 years of experience helping individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges.
Dr, Morrison holds dual doctoral degrees—a Ph.D. in Social Work and a DSW in Social Welfare—and have worked in diverse settings, including private practice, academia, and military counseling. Her career has taken her across the U.S., Alaska, Germany, and Japan, where she has had the privilege of providing mental health services to active-duty military members and their families.
In addition to her work with the military community, her work history also includes working for the NYC’s Administration for Children’s Services (ACS). Her tenure with ACS saw her chairing multiple committees addressing child abuse, neglect, and adolescent care. Her career with ACS culminated with her role as the Director of a community-based Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) for at-risk youths in the New York City area.
Dr. Morrison’s practice experience is bolstered by her teaching career, having spent over 25 years in various Professorship roles at different Universities, to include Adelphi University, The City University of New York and DeVry University.
Whether helping couples improve communication or guiding individuals through anxiety, depression, or trauma, her approach is compassionate and research-informed. She fosters a safe and supportive space where you feel heard, valued, and empowered to achieve lasting positive change.
