When there is a lot to carry

You may be dealing with anxiety, low mood, grief, stress, self-esteem concerns, or the effects of difficult experiences. Perhaps competing responsibilities or ADHD-related challenges make everyday demands feel harder to manage.

You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis or a perfectly organized explanation. We can start with what feels difficult now and consider the kind of support that may fit.

A collaborative approach

Dr. Morrison draws on a person-centered foundation and approaches that may include cognitive behavioral strategies, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused work. The approach is discussed in relation to your needs rather than applied as a fixed script.

Therapy may involve making sense of emotions, noticing patterns, exploring relationships, and practicing coping strategies. There is room to ask questions, reflect on what is helpful, and revisit the direction of the work.

Starting with a conversation

The first session provides space to discuss what brings you to therapy, relevant background, and what you hope will be different. Practical arrangements and confidentiality, including its limits, can be reviewed together.

Online services are available to eligible clients in NY, NJ, CT, TX, KY, and VA. Contact the practice to confirm availability, current fees, and the fit between your concerns and the services offered.

Questions before you begin

Do I need to know exactly what is wrong?

No. You can begin with a concern, a change in how you are feeling, or a sense that something needs attention. The initial conversation helps clarify what you want support with.

Does the practice provide therapy for children?

No. This service is for adults. Adults may discuss parenting or family concerns in their own therapy; that does not include direct treatment of children.

Can I discuss work stress or relationship concerns?

Yes. These can be explored within individual therapy. If you want to attend with a partner, read about the separate couples therapy service.
